“Hey man, sorry to start your morning off like this. Unfortunately, this isn’t going to work. The quality is just not there. Are you sure this is something you want to do long term?”

It was that last question that caused that last pillar - the thing I had been investing thousands of hours and dollars into - to collapse.

And that’s because it brought out the answer I had been hiding under the hood:

But without that thing, there was nothing left. Everyone was gonna be let down, and I’d be back at square 0.

Identity is a silly thing. Yet that - along rewards - is the biggest dictator of behavior.

In other words “committing to the bit” may get you in races you don’t want to be part of.

Of course, most life situations don’t let you leave the race.

But even with everything, it’s worth fighting for what you want.

Not what people around you want. What YOU want.

Of course, that’s the hardest thing to answer. But when you find it, everything becomes binary.

Will this get me closer to it? Yes or no? If it’s a no it’s time to change course and turn it into a yes.

So take this silly email as yet another sign to forge the life you want.

Yes, things will collapse. But as long as you have that north star, you’ll be able to build back better, faster, and with certainty.

Something unfortunate about AgonyOST songs is that they’re very hard to describe.

It throws you in a different world that is up to your own interpretation. I want to say that the melody is amazing. That the sounds are hypnotic and unique.

But that doesn’t do it justice.
