AI IS HERE TO REPLACE ARTISTS (Not Really, lol)

A basic crash course on what AI actually is and some important topics.

AI is slowly crawling into everything.

Especially in the creative spaces.

That’s getting MANY people understandably angry.

And that’s because people believe AI will replace humanity.

Yes Yes, this is a music project. But since AI is gaining ground in the music space, I want to share some insights as I’ve been actively studying it and using it in my business (not this one.)

So no, I’m no expert. I just know my way around AI and what it is.

First, let me go over some definitions for AI: An amplifier, an assistant that needs direction, the END OF EVERYTHING, and also an all-knowing child that needs supervision.

Or, in simple terms, a tool limited by the user.

And when you factor in that it eats up ANYTHING the internet spawns (even the 4k, 3D-rendered furry porn), you begin to see some cracks in the wall.

As they say: Don’t count on the tool count on the skill.

Especially when the tool is expensive to maintain and it’s prone to being unreliable and a hassle to deal with.

The only thing with AI is that like humans, it’s constantly evolving. Its evolution will bring many, many things. Both Good and Bad.

But there is only one truth: AI is here to stay. Doesn’t matter in what shape or form. You can expect to see, hear and interact with it more often as the years go by.

So here are the good and bad predictions from both an AI OBSERVER and user.

REMEMBER, THIS IS A MUSIC PROJECT. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTS.

The good:

If you are an artist, music producer or anything to do with creativity, you can now come out with ideas and angles much faster.

This also means that your human-produced stuff becomes a novelty in a world of quickly and cheaply generated art.

Art is always evolving, and our genetic code makes us predisposed to enjoy things other humans make. That is why everyone jumps to attack AI when it’s noticed. So even if it looks “gorgeous” it gets quickly forgotten or dismissed because you can just make another one just as easily.

And because it grabs every bit of data from the Internet (even the bad parts), you can expect your human-made stuff to stand out more than whatever the AI slaps together.

There’s more.

The sheer amount of cheaply produced AI art means that your human-created one will have more value. After all good art comes from the soul and the desire to build something greater than yourself.

The AI can’t do that. It just follows instructions.

And even if it follows instructions it's a hassle to make it go where you want it to. It gets to the point where its easier to draw it yourself than have the AI do it.

The Bad:

Prepare to compete with something that doesn’t sleep, eat, or lose ideas. Sure, the art may be bad, but the volume of releases negates luck.

The nature of the “infinite generation” also means that reality on the internet as you know it may become fake.

It’s no secret that AI can do some quite peculiar stuff: Perfectly replicate your voice, perfectly send text messages as you would, and perfectly generate pictures of you doing things you couldn’t even fathom.

You can train the AI to be an extension of you, let it run, go disappear in the woods, and NO ONE that you know would notice unless they see you IN PERSON. You can make it so AI you fools everyone in your life without them realizing or knowing.

It is scary to think about but it’s something that IS going to happen (in some ways it’s already started). So get ready and prepare accordingly.

And if you’re crying “THIS SHOULD BE STOPPED!!”. It won’t. If anything, the government will try to get all its power for itself and use it for governmental issues. Which is possibly worse than any other outcome.

Another thing to consider is that AI is still in the early stages. So as it gets more advanced, it will be able to do more. That’s just reality. No other way around it.

Aware, not afraid is the mantra to wear here.

Within 5-10 years AI will be everywhere and part of your everyday life. The human quest for evolution has driven us this far and now there is no going back.

You can also expect more division between the “Humanists and AI enthusiasts.” But that’s just a given. Your best bet is to find your own tribe of humanists (or AI heads, your pick, lol).

The Neutral

AI is only going to increase so learn about it and find ways to use it. After all, You can’t be afraid of something you understand.

And remember that AI art is nothing more than shortcuts used by people that want “easy fixes”. None of it is sustainable in the long term. (Unless you have the relationships that get you to headline by age 22)

I will say that there are legitimate reasons for people to prefer AI over human artists. But most are rooted in laziness and “Being Cool and futuristic”

Yeah, it sucks, but that’s just reality. Instead, look for those who WANT and REQUIRE human artists; they are and will forever be out there.

This is also a chance to use AI to become better at your skill, learn new skills and become indispensable.

Soon you’ll have to claim a side. But eventually everyone will be using AI for SOMETHING if not everything.

In Conclusion.

AI in music (NOT AI music) is not a bad thing. I’d personally love to build an AI that finds similar songs based on specific things I enjoyed about the song. Unlike spotify that throws you into some wild, unrelated rabbit hole after 2 songs.

And I also want to make a promise with this project: Everything you read from us will be human made.

The only thing we would use AI for is to come up with the topics or angles, but EVERTHING you read (posts, emails, articles, scizo meltdowns) WILL come from a human.

And remember, AI is a TOOL which is only as good as its user. Learn and understand it to stop fearing it. Keep in mind that going forward, everything you see online can very well be fake and AI generated so be of aware, not afraid.

Regardless, keep hope, things CAN get better.

And as always, your anonymous human host will be ranting more soon.
