Calling it off.

Breaking the cycle

Hype creates disappointment. No matter what it's for.

This isn't a hit piece on being excited about things. But from experience, it's rare for things to match the fantastic story you've created in your head.

This has happened countless times. But where's it been worse it's on music releases (Has happened more times that I want to admit).

If you’re confused about what I’m talking about, here's what the average release cycle looks like:

  1. Initial announcement.

  2. Releasing some AMAZING singles that make you hopeful for the rest of the album

  3. Radio silence for months or even years.

  4. More teasing about “it coming soon” even after those months of radio silence

  5. RELEASE DAY! (1 year+ later)

  6. The album sounds NOTHING like the lead singles.

  7. Repeat thinking “it’s gonna be different this time.”

It's gotten to the point where most of my favorite albums and EPs are unexpected ones that show up randomly. 2/10 expected albums actually deliver on the hype.

So that's it. No more expecting and waiting for albums until a week/month prior (gotta keep you in the loop after all)

I can't spoil WHICH album caused this -since I TECHNICALLY wasn’t supposed to hear it yet- but it's one I've waited for a year and followed the same hype cycle.

I'll have more to say about it tomorrow but today I'm putting the foot down.

If you want to join me in this adventure, you’ll find that music becomes better when it’s a pleasant surprise.

In any case, here's a song that caught me by surprise and quickly became a favorite.

This is from none other than Finnish Fish (Name in progress™️) - Bad Computer.

He’s a genuine master of sound design. The unique sounds in every one of his songs have pushed house music to a new level.

This track has a much darker and gloomier tone than all his others. That’s not a bad thing; it still has that element that makes it a good listen.

It’s a very interesting twist on the tried and tired Bass House genre. I think he landed the execution quite well. It’s also the best track to prepare for the weekend.

Overall, I love the energy this song brings. Consider it the warmup for fridee.

Njoy.

Genre: Bass House

P.S. It’s been a week since Hyperoxia went missing. I think bro is gone. Could it be time to kidnap find a temporary cohost until he returns… maybe if I actually paid them it would be different…
