Alright, yesterday left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, good thing we got the Fridee buffet to forget about that atrocity.
I’ve been enjoying these so lets do another round of FAST REVIEWS!
BUNT. - Levi Did It. (7/10)
This is one of those “hit or miss” artists for me. His breakthrough EP Levi Didn’t Do It was incredible all things considered.
I honestly never imagined a German Gremlin to be able to make “American-optimized” house music but here we are.
I’d say he’s the German John Summit.
This album is “hit or miss” personafied. Every song has 2 reactions:
boring “meh” that you’ve heard before from arists like Swimming Paul or Fred again…
Oh wow this is actually REALLY good!
Funnily enough, some of the better songs are in German, lol.
The production value is good, it doesn’t sound BAD. Its just a bit too “basic” for any listener thats been in the genre for long.
Its obvious that target audience is people who are still in the “yeah I listen to edm on the side” audience. Its something that festival goers will enjoy and appreciate more.
Not a bad album, but as Hyperoxia put it: “entry into electronic music” finance bro type beat.
Sammy Virji - Open Late (9/10)
Up & Down is my favorite song from him. Hearing a groovier album is the best thing ever.
He has a knack for groovy tunes that got you swinging to the beat.
Its a really fun album!
The best part about it is that it sounds like a “band assortment.”
Every instrument gets its space to breathe. Everything sounds so vivid that its like you’re hearing it live.
A masterpiece of composition.
Highly highly recommended
Mersiv - Nostalgia. (5/10)
Alright look. I did it to myself.
I was looking for something “out there” to listen to.
This came up and I was like “eh, I’ve got time, why not?”
Holy crap dubstep is and has been dead for a while.
I’m not going to call it soulless. There is effort put into this.
It’s just… dated.
It sounds like dubstep right from 2015. Not that its a bad thing but its like, the mastering is all over the place, it feels like an album that doesn’t know wether it is a rock album or a dubstep album so it does both horribly.
If you’re missing that old school sound this might scratch that itch.
Jeshi - Headrush (7/10)
This is made for the British Creature.
Everything about it sounds like “night out with the lads”
It’s a lot more rap heavy but the beats are pretty good!
Not much to say aside from that hahaha.
Maybe we can get a resident Brit Creat to reply and let us know their thoughts.
And that’s all the time I got for today!
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
A special wish to all my Netherland Neanderthals to enjoy their ADE.
Let today’s selection warm you up for an amazing weekend.
Njoy.
