Now, I MYSELF don’t know much about Torus. I found them alongside an album from DJ LOSTBOI, and since the album was atmospheric, figured I’d run into another atmospheric/downtempo artist. But before I could even check, I saw the SPF branding in their discography, and KNEW I HAD TO CHECK IT OUT. Now, the SPF project has been a blast to listen to, and I was honestly quite surprised to see Torus apart of the project…
The Great
Now, what a pleasure it was to listen to this song. It’s intricately crafted, its unique, and it does a phenomenal job of helping the SPF compilations sit above the rest. The subtle vocals, combined with those ethereal sounds that echo, and come in slowly out of nowhere are incredible. The sounds that SOUND like GLASS? That’s the best way I can describe it. It sounds like glass, or crystalline. It is SO beautiful. And then towards the end, there’s this gorgeous drum break that just, is so amazing.
The one gripe with it.
You can’t give us a a drum break like that and have it be that short man. It’s so damn gorgeous. You’ve GOT to give us more of that.
Wrappin it up
Torus, you have TRULY blessed us with this song. This was an absolutely stunning song to have heard. It’s intricate, it’s ethereal, and it’s beautiful. This is a solid 3.4/5.
