I’m listening to a new song on my way to work.
As the rhythm plays in my ear, time slows down…
Out of nowhere, my brain fires a signal I can’t explain…
Then… a shock through my entire body.
Emotions rush from my head all the way down to the toes. A wave of excitement mixed with tranquility fills me.
The feeling moves with the song as it continues, going away once the song ends.
It’s feels like an enlightening experience.
One quick google search later, it’s apparently called “goosebumps” and not “Ascending into a higher plane”
What a waste of a name…
What I ALSO found was an article talking about how people who get goosebumps while listening to music MAY have a unique brain.
The scientific mumbo jumbo is: “those who get goosebumps have a higher volume of fibres that connect their auditory cortex to the areas associated with emotional processing, which means the two areas communicate better.”
My EXPERT explanation: “More brain wires from your audio department to your emotional department. More wire better communication.”
There’s also something about: “Having a high prefrontal cortex, which isinvolved in certain areas of understanding, like interpreting a song’s meaning,”
Or as I call it: “Big brain make big pattern connection.”
So how do you know for sure that you have one of these “highly wired” brains?
Sure… you can listen to your favorite song…
OR
You can listen to this phenomenal song which can potentially trigger such experience (as it did for me)…
And if it doesn’t work once, listen to it again, it should do the trick.
