It begins at 4:00P.M.

You can hear it from a mile away.

It whispers to you like the Green Goblin mask as it gets closer.

That fateful day has started a chain reaction that can’t be controlled.

The Tetris Soundtrack (looped royalty free).mp3 gets louder as you realize.

The Ice Cream Van is here.

So far I’ve resisted it’s allure. But I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold on for.

I thought it would not come back considering this warehouse section isn’t necessarily brimming with clients.

But nope. Ever since that email they’ve been coming back daily.

This is a problem.

Yeah yeah, it was a mid shake. It’s not something that I crave every day.

But you underestimate how easily I fold.

I keep falling for every tourist trap and sugar dessert under the sun. No matter how obvious, stupid or overpriced it is.

In fact, you will never meet someone with more “fell for it again” awards.

POV: Me in Asia buying another $30 tourist trap souvenir.

Not to say that I’m hopeless. Once I find a flaw I start building walls to reduce how often I fall.

Of course, that isn’t perfect. Sometimes I fold with full consciousness.

But the name of the game is REDUCTION. Not instant elimination.

Unfortunately, there’s something I can’t stop falling for.

Music.

It’s always the popular stuff that everyone is hyping up. I try to resist the bandwagon but always end up folding.

Yes, I HAVE to keep up and listen to the mf songs if I’m going to be writing about the music industry.

But there are times where the album is SO CHEEKS that I want to ask for a time refund.

You don’t deserve that though.

One of my missions is to prevent you from getting “fell for it again” awards.

So you can always rest easy that every song you get is VETTED through my insanely high standards.

I listen to the song 10 times before sending it. It’s a ruthless process to make sure it’s worth your time.

Of course, music is subjective. No matter how good I think something is you will usually have a different opinion.

My promise to you is that you’ll always have a song that is slightly new or different from the hyped up slop.

Even if it ends up being the worst thing you’ve heard.

So with that bold claim out of the way here’s a classic song.

This is by Abnormal Australian Tommy Trash and German Gremlim duo Digitalism.

Even though this song is almost 13 years old it doesn’t sound old.

Hey, I know I keep sending old songs. Today I have a good reason.

It’s THURSDAY. Throwback Thursday.

It’s always good to get some Old Gold in before the Fridee Slop Sessions.

And trust me, there’s a LOT of amazing new songs coming up.

Until then, sit back and enjoy this classic that has:

  • A barrage of simple sounds with addictive melodies.

  • European tier production with Australian tier energy.

  • A phenomenal third drop that still hits 13 years later.

Njoy!

(The music video for this one is cool)

Genre: A blast to the past to simpler and groovier times.

Always Falling For It Forward
