There’s this African saying that has been circling my mind recently.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together

When I first heard it a couple years ago I scoffed and went faster.

And now that I reach my 3rd year in business I realize that there really is no way to truly do “EVERYTHING.”

There’s this huge idea online about building a “one person million dollar business”

After all we have AI now ! It CaN dO ThE tAsK oF 100 PeOpLe! It CaN rUn YoUr LiFe!!!!!!

Yeah right.

In my vast yet limited experience AI can barely do things right the first time. It requires a frustrating amount of handholding.

And yet these -$100,000,000,000 companies keep promising to replace workers and yadda yadda.

Look, I don’t know if it’s me being unable to build a good “army of robots.”

Yes. The tech has been getting better. Claude can do some work for you and new assistants like OpenClaw promise a full employee.

Will it get better?

Yeah sure. Everything does.

But even with ALL those, there still WON’T be time for a single human to do EVERYTHING.

Let me give you an example with this newsletter.

In “theory” I could build this newsletter to 6 figures by myself. After all its a simple process:

  1. Write an email every day.

  2. Do something that grows my list every day

  3. Reach out to artists and other people in the community to make partnerships

  4. Build a product.

  5. Feed the whole flywheel into the daily email.

It’s not rocket science.

But I want to do more than that. I want this to grow into an actual community.

For that goal I’ve been playing with the idea of live events and some really cool products.

But doing those requires a bandwidth that’s NOT available. Many of these skills and processes are better handled by others.

.

As you can likely tell…

Your trashmaster Hz is NOT a designer by ANY extent of the imagination.

Sure I can spend 20 or so hours getting “good” at design. But I will NEVER get close to those people who can design a castle out of mud.

And that’s okay.

I’ll give it to a designer that LOVES doing it and doesn’t dread opening Canva.

But why do people help each other in the first place?

I believe that it's because of:

  1. Self interest

  2. Limits (physical, time, skill)

I’ll also argue that time is the strongest limiter.

Realistically there’s only 16 livable hours a day. it only makes sense to commit those hours to something you are good at and give those you AREN’T good at to someone who is

Just as you have intelligently decided to outsource your music selection to yours trashy.

And I won't be disappointing today as I haven't for the past 2 years.

This is by Netherland Neanderthal Dion Timmer.

Its a very sweet and synthy song with a relaxing melody.

Crazy what dubstep artists do when not making riddim slop.

I think we need more of these positive sounding songs. If anything this will help you get more energy.

Njoy.

Genre: Syhnthy bliss

Always Accompanied by the Voices Forward
