🍱 Delicacy of the Day

This is a special week.

As such, it’s time to bring out the fine China, go down to the cellar and pick up that 5,000 year old wine, and slay the finest sheep or whatever. (that’s how it works right?)

Or in dumpster™ terms…

IT’S TIME TO PULL OUT THE AUDIBLE GOLD.

“How is that different from the best?”

Well… it’s kinda hard to differentiate since we already send “the best” every day.

But these tracks are so good I never get a chance to sit down and showcase them the way they deserve.

So this is an attempt.

Now this song is a tricky one.

It’s by one of my forever top 5 artists. British Creature duo Ekcle.

They broke up in 2020. It was the most devastating moment in electronic music that no one knew about. It’s akin to Daft Punk breaking up.

You might think its an overreaction, but if you listen to this (or any of Ekcle’s songs) you’ll understand.

This might be the most “gambly” song to start with. But I chose it for a reason.

The beginning is dark, gritty, and senseless. It’s out of sync, chaotic, and will make some people want to turn it off.

But this is in purpose. It’s meant to scare off those looking for cheap thrills.

It’s audible “delayed gratification.”

After that first part, its kinda impossible to describe the feeling.

Like finding paradise after years in purgatory.

To this day, its amusing how impressive every sound in this song is.

This is like 5 songs in one. You can spend hours analyzing every little detail and still find more.

Few songs reach this level of beauty and complexity.

And fewer listeners appreciate it.

In a world that’s become more “dismissive” of art and music because of its convenience, this song proves that music is more than “silence filler”.

I could probably write another 500 words about this song. Talk about the pianos, the instruments, the composition, the serenity, the way it perfectly closes, how it is the epitome of electronic music.

…But that' would probably de-sell this masterpiece.

The only way to experience this is by listening to the damn thing.

So what are you waiting for?

Come get your cake. It’s a big day tomorrow.

Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel

Tomorrow is an intriguing day.

Over the past couple of years I’ve noticed a trend.

October 13 is a day when some “life-altering” event happens.

Mostly, it's finally deciding to do something I’ve been sitting on for months, or even years.

Last year it was a simple “invest $1 every day into the market.” I heard it from a mentor who said “You’ll get addicted to seeing that number go up.”

It’s about to be a year since that moment.

It’s safe to say that I, in fact, love seeing that number go up.

Since then, I’ve done that experiment in other financial domains, but I only look at those once a year, so I can’t report on that yet.

Now is this something EVERYONE should do?

To an extent, yeah.

I used to be one of those people who believed that everything required this GRANDIOSE thing to start.

Like you know, dropping $10k to really “get into the market.” or “be an expert before starting” or “have the perfect x to start y.”

This year has proven 2 important things:

  1. Starting incredibly small and sticking with it long enough works better than “waiting for a grandiose vision to start.”

This has been true for finances, relationships, and many other areas of life.

You can always iterate and evolve as you grow. Very few things in this life are fixed.

Basic internet advice. I know.

But are you going to nod and move on, or find something you can apply it to?

That small decision will decide if the next 5 years look like the previous 5.

  1. [Something I’ll share sometime this week.]

If you’ve put something off because it feels “impossible” or “out of reach,” this is your sign to start.

Find your October 13 and give yourself that chance to start, even if its as small as “sending a message I’ve been sitting on for months”

And if you need some help starting it, well…

Always Forward
