Welcome to Sunday Singles!

Every Sunday either Hyperoxia or I will send you a micro-review of a single song.

While the subject line may have been bait, this song has stayed rent free in my brain for the past 24 hours. And in good Hz fashion, I must get you hooked as well.

Song Info

Title: FISHER - Stay

Release Date: 3/21/25

Genre: Tech House

Runtime: 2:45

Artist Lore

Coming from reverso land (Seriously, they do everything opposite from American’ts), FISHER Is an Abnormal Australian who specializes in dancefloor heaters.

Which is to be expected from a surfer-turned-DJ-turned-producer. But it seems like he is a DJ first producer second.

That said, his songs are very hit or miss. This one is a total HIT.

The Great

The composition and sounds. The beat is simple. Piano to start, sampled vocals from an 80s song, slow introduction of the kicks, good buildup…

And the best part. The groovy drop full of beautiful synth pads that invade your ear drums to stay.

It's a great, energetic song with the right amount of speed to be fun and easygoing.

The addictive part is the pads that play at the drop. Can’t explain what’s good about them they just HIT.

The one gripe with it.

It’s kinda short. There’s a lot to be said about “festival vs headphone music” but this is very much a festival song.

There's nothing wrong with festival songs, but it just doesn’t really work when you’re at home. (Where your trashy host spends 90% of the day)

Wrappin it up

This is a fantastic song for a relaxing Sunday at the beach. Or if you need something for your next hangout.

The sound is nice. It won’t scare off people, and you may be getting asked for the ID.

Similar to it

This is from the American’t version of FISHER - John Summit.

This also an easygoing song with amazing energy that’s geared towards outside use.

It may also become addictive so listen with care.
