Fox Stevenson - Dreamland

I've been following British Creature Fox Stevenson's career for almost 11 years now. He’s one of the first artists I discovered.

Seeing his style evolve from drum and bass to dubstep to this amazing hybrid of rock and d&b has been incredible.

This song feels like a mixture of everything he's been working towards.

It's also one of those tracks that grow on you over time.

The intro is pretty energetic and keeps that energy perfectly throughout the full song.

This is one of the few artists where I actually think the lyrics are a good addition to the song.

The way he can keep highs and lows perfectly makes it a great song to focus on and also have in the background.

I will admit this is a love-it-or-hate-it type of song. There’s a lot of that “special sauce” in it, but the enjoyment depends on the person (as with every song, duh, but more on this one).

It was honestly pretty normal. Nothing really to write home about, I think Japanese TV was the wackiest one out of all of them.

I couldn’t enter the train station because the mall you access it through was closed.

Unfortunately, that meant getting another Uber.

And even MORE unfortunate, there was no crazy taxi this time.

The Chongqing airport was just like every other airport, except it was empty lol.

I also arrived early, so I had to wat an hour for the Check-in gate to open.

...which I would have preferred it stay closed because I had to pay a sweet $200 for my overweight luggage. Yeah, that was very cool!

At least I got some meals on my flight (max copium).

China is incredible

It feels like jumping 20 years into the future.

The trains are incredible, everything is full of lights, and there's this grandiose aspect to all of it.

The food was pretty good and the whole experience was incredibly affordable

Activities where quite fun, a lot of it was more modern and the towers were incredible.

Shanghai was kinda meh, it felt like Miami but not evil. It had public transportation and towers which already makes it infinitely better than this hellhole of a city.

Chongqing is a phenomenal city. This is the Bussan of China. I'm not sure how else to express it. It's a genuine adventure to explore and everything about it was awe inspiring.

The heat was pretty rough but people warned me about it since Korea.

Aside from that, it's INCREDIBLY easy to get lost. (Which is another thing they warned me about but I didn't believe!)

I've heard mixed things about this place.

...good thing I’m only here for a connecting flight and only saw the airport.

The only problem is that I'm starting to develop a cold and feel like death.

It seems that running 30 days without sleep, food, or any conscience for health comes back to bite you.

Who would have known!

So the first order of business was to find a pharmacy

...Which was the first thing you saw after crossing immigration.

Yeah, the stereotypes are all coming true huh. (You'll never guess what was on the first shelf, but feel free to reply with your best guess).

After getting enough medicine and pills to treat an adult elephant, I made it to my gate to wait for the next plane.

Not much to say about the airport. Maybe that the subway was really good! Better than the US one for sure.

This was a chaotic airport.

Exiting was like exiting a metro station during rush hour.

It was also storming which meant some delays in landing.

After exiting I had to locate my taxi which was pre-booked

Except I had to wait an hour before it was available hahaha.

Then the pilgrimage to the hotel began. I started playing today’s song as we started making our way to the hotel.

Which was a very cool 2 HOURS AWAY.

The road there was pretty chill and picturesque.

I started talking to the Driver who gracefully answered all my questions

That's when I asked the golden question NO one has been able to give me an answer for

"Hey, what is there to do around here?"

"Oh many things! What do you like to do?" She replied

"Well... I don't like drinking or partying"

total silence

Her facial expression totally changed as to say “yeah gang, I don’t know.”

She stayed quiet for a good 2 minutes.

"There's nothing else to do, is there?" I ask to break the silence.

"I mean... Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's what most people come here. But uh... There's the beach!" she said in a cheerful tone.

"Well, I'll try to give that a try"

After that, we talked about differences between countries and, shortly after, arrived at the hotel.

Now why in the world would I come to Party City if I’ve never had a drop of liquor or seen the inside of a club/bar?

Well... There's a certain mission I must complete.

It's not what you think, though.

More will be revealed in the coming days.

This was the tallest building in the entire city which provided an insane view!

This was also a huge room with a kitchen, living room and master bedroom bigger than the Tokyo airbnb.

Of course, the first order of the night was to waddle over to the local 7-Eleven to get water and food.

I was pretty exhausted so I just knocked out shortly after returning.

By this point I was out of plans for this place. Even YouTube didn't have activities (other than beach and partying) and that's DIRE.

But that's a problem for tomorrow.
