365 Days
10/13/2023
My palms are sweaty.
I have so much anxiety my legs are nervously shaking.
"What if no one likes it and I'm just wasting my time." Is the only thought in my mind.
I look at the clock and realize I’ve been staring at the same page for the past 30 minutes.
So I take a deep breath, turn my brain off and click "Publish."
At that moment, it was real.
Dumpster Delicacies was live.
Today marks a year since we officially launched the project.
I say "launch" because we started talking about it in January 2023 but did nothing about it until October 13th 2023, LOL.
But ever since, Dumpster Divers (name in progress™️) like you have gotten daily emails without missing a single day.
We even sent daily emails to the only 1 reader we had for two straight months, lol.
It's been a wild ride. We've done things neither of us expected. Like the Japan trip, this was another thing that made it out of the group chat.
Today, we've grown this project past anything we expected.
And there's still much to come.
Of course, none of it would be possible without YOU. Yeah, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been in the dumpster.
You make the dumpster great and worthwhile, and I don't say that as a joke.
Just knowing you are investing your time reading these emails and listening to these songs puts pressure on us to write and send things that will help YOU get a better experience out of life, no matter how small it is.
Our mission is still the same: Send you the BEST songs of this beautiful art form.
There’s a new golden age of electronic music coming, and you’ll be part of it.
But with a new year comes new goals, and we want to do MORE:
We want to help YOU find MORE new artists you love and give artists MORE power.
The truth is the music industry is a crapshow. Artists have little to no power over their income or brands. We want to change that and give artists control.
So mark my words:
“The Dumpster will become a platform for underground artists to send music and grow audiences and for you to find new, great music without counting on crappy, biased algorithms.”
While I'm not big on "in-person live events," I want to create more experiences you and other Dumpster Divers can enjoy.
And with your help, it can be more than just a pipe dream.
So hold on, The Dumpster is getting bigger and better.
With that in mind, I have a question.
Have we helped you find a great song you love?
If so, please let us know in the poll below or reply to this email. It would be even better if you could tell us what the song was.

Today’s song is the one I was hearing when this project launched. It’s from none other than G Jones.
He’s a legendary artist from Can’tifornia with the most unique sound I’ve ever heard.
His Paths album was my pick for best album of 2023 and still holds today.
But that’s not all you’re getting today. Just like Spotify gives you a rewind of your best tracks this year; we are giving you “the trash annals,” which include every song we’ve sent in this first year.
Some are so good you may see them again; we want to make sure you’re getting the best.
Here’s to another year of great daily music.
Njoy.
And the playlist (it’s missing some songs because I lost access to the software that archived the first 3 months)
Always Forward.

P.S. If you’re one of the OGs, stay tuned; we have something for you.
