What genre of music has the worst fanbase?
It aint this one...
Tis one of those days where I don’t know what to write about.
So I went on to good ol REDDIT to find a topic for this email.
That’s where I saw this post:
“What genre of music has the worst fanbase?”
Inside this is the VERY FIRST COMMENT:
“I'm a huge edm fan, but some people are so stuck up and cynical about it all. I'm not a fan but who cares if someone likes Slushii or Marshmello over Don Diablo or kshmr. People get so butthurt.”
NOW THIS…
Is very true LOL.
I’m sure it’s like this in ALL genres (looking at the whole Kendrick and Drake fiasco)
But people in edm are really RUTHLESS about this stuff. ESPECIALLY hell TWITTER.
Entire communities fight over the most minimal thing.
It never gets as heated as rap as well…
You KINDA can’t make an effective diss track with sounds…
But hey, drama and conflict engages like nothing else. (As proven by the… Kendrick and Drake fiasco, lol)
And honestly, I support it.
As humans, you and I create tribes out of anything.
It gives us a sense of belonging and helps with a myriad of other things that go beyond the topic of this email.
As for my opinion on which fanbase is insufferable…
I don’t know, Taylor Swift? That’s declaring war with a good chunk of the American population tho, lol.
Anyway, since EDM drama tends to stick like napalm to popular artists, here’s an underground song from an obscure-ish genre.
This one is a fantastic CHEWSDAY heater from Juche.
Energetic, emotive, and good enough to get stuck on repeat. It also claims there’s something in the water, but what do I know.
Njoy.
Genre: Witch House
