VIQ so happens to be, yet another, French Creature…
But, are we really surprised? More and more does it become apparent that the top talent in electronic music hails from Europe, and continuously leaves their non European counterparts behind (except for a select few).
VIQ has been creating synthwave for almost 6 years at this point, and has an absolutely astounding discography to back it up.
The Great
Man, where do I begin…
The synths are gorgeous, and the progression of sounds just works so well. The melody is quite simple but its the instrument usage and its progression that really make this song something special.
The one gripe with it.
My ONE gripe with it, is that I wish the plucks were a bit FULLER. The synths are meaty, and maybe the plucks are a bit less to help give them space, but I cant help but wonder what it would sound like if the plucks were a bit more meatier.
Wrappin it up
Without a doubt this song is going to see some heavy rotation, and I believe it may just be one of VIQ’s best songs. The atmosphere this song has is incredible. It’s got this dusky, earthy yet ethereal vibe to it, and VIQ is able to intertwine the two so incredibly well.
