Glowing Experiences
From a lab.
A couple of hours ago, we were at TeamLabs Osaka; Where art and nature coexist.
It was a walk through a botanical garden turned open-air museum.
After a short line in the humid heat, we cross the gates and enter the first area. In this area, we see a rhythm of lit up trees welcoming us into the park. The trees sung as we walked past them, and glowed even stronger.
There is a serene song that accompanies the area. It’s like a meditation/binaural track that beckons you to wander in deeper into the park. With so many secrets to tell, we were curious.
We waddle over to the second area which is a walk through a trail filled with “light-up beans.” The beans glow in different colors and have this otherworldly look to them. If you’ve ever seen “Indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull”, they look somewhat like the crystal skull.
They look ethereal, and can be pushed around. They react to your touch as you push them around. The trees are also lit up and change colors as if the forest itself were alive.
The power grid must be INSANE to run this type of exhibition, Texas could never, lol
We cross over to the third area. Another trail, except this one has brush strokes that create lines while tuned to the music of a flute. The forest a bit dark, but lit up as the brush flies through the forest, illuminating it in a hue of blues.
The fourth area are 3 monoliths that move with the wind and create circles that eerily look like hurricanes. They also are supposed to change patterns and interact with the birds as they fly by, emulating the flight patterns of birds. It was an absolutely stunning visual display of a plethora of colors and shifting winds.
The fifth area are huge inflatable eggs that are as plush as pillows and also glow and can be pushed around. Within this exhibit is an area that has a lot of these eggs in close proximity that act as a maze and that lets you run in and get pushed around by the huge eggs.
The sixth area was a light up grass area that dimmed in silence, but lit up as we walked through its winding pathways. This one was Hyperoxia’s favorite of all the areas. There were also benches in this area that allowed us to take a much needed rest and really soak the atmosphere all in.
The seventh area was a lake that had a small island with some beautifully trimmed trees that were lit up in colors that made them look like they were in autumn. This island was also surrounded by floating lanterns that periodically dimmed and brightened.
After all was said and done, we made our way back home via trains, which is, absolutely one of the best parts of Japan (US public transport could never, and probably will never be this good).
