“$1,600 it is then.”

“Thank you! Round numbers now!” Commented the auctioneer.

As some of you may know, I am involved in the marketing industry.

It’s an adventure that has forever changed my life.

Thanks to this path I find myself in situations out of my depth and -in many cases- wallet.

Today’s adventure was none other than an auction.

Bidding started at $2.

Within 40 minutes we were at the four-figure range.

Then, the auctioneer revealed that there is a reward for participating and throwing in a bid (even if you don’t end up winning.)

You already know what happens next.

In classic Hz fashion I broke a year-long lurking session and threw my hat in the ring at:

“$1,601”

(Talk about an introduction)

Now what type of cretin drops that amount of money on a whim?

What reward could this person be offering worth that amount?

Before I tell you let me give you a fast forward of what transpired in the next 10 minutes.

“$1,602” From a contestant and known writer in the group (Let’s call him J).

“1,606” from someone who started at $10 (Lets call her C)

“1,608” Said J

“$1,609” I said

“$1616.16” Said J (this made me laugh)

Then, the legend responsible for the whole $1,600 bid -who I’ll call GC- came back and dropped…

“$1,700 Please”

Not even a second later C said “$1,703.”

“$100 + Vino Tinto for the pool party” Added T (new character) further devolving this into a new type of auction.

“$1,705” said J

"$1,777. just for a bit of gambling” I said

“I have no vino tinto but I have $1,850” said GC.

Then, the bonuses started piling on.

“$1,901 plus a video of my toddler dancing” said C

“$1,902 and a video of ME dancing” Said J (who at this point is doubling down on whatever someone else does.

“$2,000 and a video of [the auctioneer’s name] dancing” said GC to increase the stakes.

The auctioneer was not too excited at this proposition but hinted at making it happen if GC won.

I want you to remember something.

All of that happened in the lapse of 5 minutes.

In the next 10 minutews it would balloon up to $3,000 thanks to Legend GC. At this point he revelead he was MOVING while the auction was happening.

Yeah. Bro was slingling Gs while doing a whole ass relocation.

At this point I jokingly asked “When do we start adding cents to increase the bids?”

To which J replied

Whenever you’re ready!

Oh boy.

Is this…

A challenge?

A financially irresponsible challenge?

Say less.

I saw C raise the bid to $3,333.

This was a sign.

Before anyone could raise it I went all in.

“$3,333.33”

Not even 5 seconds passed when GC the LEGEND followed up with

“3,333.333”

Well… I guess I can do 3,33-

“UNFORUNTATELY WE CANNOT DO THAT. THERE’S GOTTA BE A LIMIT TO HOW FRANCTIONAL OF AN INCREASE WE CAN DO. HZ IS STILL THE TOP BIDDER” Said the auctioneer.

Ah okay so there’s still-

“Okay Okay, let’s go for $3,555 then” Said GC without giving it second thought.

I’m sad to say this…

By that point I was already doing high stakes gambling…

So I tapped out.

Not before betting $3 and a milkshake that GC would win the auction.

I then returned to my wage cage duties. (Who says you can’t do auctions on the clock?)

That was 6 hours ago.

As of writing this email I went back to check and uh…

The current bid is at a cool…

$8,888

(Not from GC. This guy was not there while this whole event happened)

Of course, I’ve fully let go of the idea.

For now…

Okay okay, let me talk about the elephant in the room.

What in the world do you have to offer to get a number that high?

This is going to sound BANANAS to anyone outside the marketing industry.

But the thing we’re all slinging Gs for is…

An endorsement.

In more detailed terms (paraphrased from the auctioneer): “I endorse and work with you to create a free giveaway + paid thank-you page offer which you can use to build up your email list AND make money on day zero by turning new subscribers into buyers right away. I guarantee that you will make 100% of your money back and will work with you until you do.”

Does that sound insane?

Yeah. It is.

But there’s a reason why we’re all doing this.

Trust.

I - Like bidding characters - have known this man for 2+ years in the form of daily emails and random online interactions.

I have also bought many things from him.

IN fact, his teachings brought many of you to The Dumpster.

So would I pay $10,000 for the reward?

Yes. (Once I have that type of spare cash available)

Now what’s the point with all of this?

And what the f*ck does this have to do with Day 10 of the Advent Dumpsterdar or music?

Well, let’s open it up and find out shall we?

i_o & Tommy Trash (feat. Daisy Guttridge) - Let Me Go

This is another song with the same description you already know.

What makes this different is that you dedicate this song to someone you trust.

And how can I send a song with this title without talking about letting go.

You don’t need me to tell you that “LeTtInG gO iS hArD.”

You and I stick to guns that have caused more harm than good.

A big part of it is the trust we have that things will magically get better.

And a life changing lesson I learned is that the best way to let go of toxic things is to start doing good things that leave you no time to do the negative ones.

It doesn’t have to be anything massive. It can be as easy as giving more time to that hobby that brings you life.

With time you’ll realize more things bring you life aside from the things you hold on to, and you’ll invest more time in those.

Then, slowly but surely, you’ll let go of the toxic habits to sustain your new life.

So it is possible to change.

Trust in yourself and the process.

Just like you -hopefully by this point- trust me to deliver you an amazing song every day.

This one is no exception. i_o absolutely cooked with this one.

Njoy.

Genre: Audible gold long email rant variant.

Always gambling based on trust Forward

Hz

P.S. Holy Yap I know. Surely there was a way to say “trust more” than with a 1,200 behemoth but I think this drives the point home. If it doesnt… I’ll try again later.

Go Njoy the song bruh you’re missing out on some gold.
