It gives life and it gives death
And it's all around
The weather is fascinating. It is the most complex yet impactful system on you and I.
This earth isn’t really in our control. No matter what humans build, nature’s entropy always has the upper hand.
Everything will rot and decay to nature. No matter how tall, how strong, how powerful.
And while this entropy has many forms, here’s the most dangerous one.
It’s more destructive than fire. Hides in every corner, and is essential to life.
Water.
Both life and death. The cradle of civilization and at times, it’s destruction.
It gives and it takes. It gives you the feeling of control.
You can build dams, artificial lakes, and even attempt to control the weather patterns. But no matter what you do, water will always find its way.
All throughout history water has been ally and foe. Even the Bible speaks of floods that ended humanity.
Nature depends on water. Food depends on water. Life itself depends on water.
And even then, we take it for granted, polluting it with microplastics and garbage, dropping chemicals and sewage, and causing death to a vital part of nature.
Being so close to the ocean during a hurricane puts in perspective how uncontrollable it is. At any moment, the storm can cause the ocean to flood everything.
Is there a solution to this? Not really.
Nature is a cycle based on balance that no one but God can control. It’s the perfect system and yet the most complex one. You figure that one out.
In any case, I pray for West Floridians to stay safe and survive this hurricane. Thanks to adaptability, you and I are the ultimate creatures. No matter how hard things get, we find a solution and change.
There is always a way to rebuild and make things better. So never lose hope.
Alright, let’s get on to the music.
Gray days like these have this odd effect. Everything feels bleak and lethargic. (Is this why British Creatures feel like this every day?)
Weather is so impactful in life that observing your behavior under different circumstances can be a good way to take control.
Regardless, this song has been on repeat all day. You haven’t gotten that much Ambient so it’s time to change that.
This song embodies seeing things in slow motion: hurricanes, events, relationships, and life.
There are no more words I can use to describe this song. It’s an experience you have to go through yourself.
Don’t skip to any point. Sit down, play it, and ponder. Look outside the window, see around you. Take some time to stop and realize that you are alive. You are here.
Reflection is a great gift. Take a chance to use it. You’ll be amazed by what you discover.
Njoy.
Always Forward
