🍱 Delicacy of the Day

In my 12 years of exposure to electronic music, I’ve rarely heard an album this masterfully composed.

It’s from Abnormal Australian duo Lastlings. A project composed of siblings.

That said, this perfectly combines vocals and production.

And the production is BEYOND masterwork tier.

Last year I listened to this album 100 times.

Might sound like an exaggeration, but I had this on loop for WEEKS. I don’t have accurate tracking but I was literally playing this for 10 hours a day.

This album single-handedly got me out of a rough mental spot, got me into hi-fi audio, and became a top 5 album of all time.

Every song takes you through a whole new experience. And unlike every album in 2026, this one is 12 tracks of front-to-back heaters.

The theme of the album “First Experiences.” It sounds like it beause every song will throw you into a new mind state.

This is the album's first song. I recommend listening to the album in full after the first song.

I’m not the biggest fan of “artist comparisons” but this song feels like the new generation of Rufus Du Sol.

The rest of the tracks follow the same princple of perfect production with stellar vocals.

You can spend hours analyzing each song. So much love and passion goes into every track that you can’t help but get lost in it.

You might not like the first song. That’s okay. But you CANNOT go without listening to this album at least once. Everyone can find something in here.

Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel

Since yesterday counts as my “New Years” I want to talk about the second biggest lesson of this past year.

As fast as it's been going, I’ve been exposed to a myriad of opportunities.

Among these opportunities, I’ve seen behind the scenes of giants.

It’s impressive to see the results of hard work and dedication.

But this backstage look made me realize something more important.

“No one knows what the fuck they are doing.”

Yeah, its crude. But there’s no other way to drive that point home.

Hell, I’d say not even AI knows what it’s doing anymore, hahaha.

It’s only natural. There are limits to what you can learn and do in year.

And in a day? Forget about it. 24 hours ain’t enough for ANYONE.

So no matter how much it looks like someone has it together, it ain’t like that.

Everyone is pretty much just figuring it out as they go.

Sure, everyone has mastery over a handful of domains. But one person cannot ever do everything.

This is both horrible and liberating.

Horrible because… well… who the hell is steering the ship?

But liberating because… well, if no one is steering the ship you might as well take that freedom to go wherever you want.

Do some people hold more power than others? Sure!

But that doesn’t mean they got it together. They’re just pretending better than others.

So yeah, everyone has problems, no one has it together, and the only way is through.

And hey, maybe there’s a reason for these time limitations.

Maybe we aren’t meant to be experts in everything and doing everything solo. There could be value in “helping fill the gaps” for one another.

But thats a conversation for another day.

Always Forward
