What happened to _______
The many mysteries.
Every couple years there's an absolute trailblazer that makes the best songs you've ever heard just to disappear from the face of the earth.
For dubstep it was 501…
For house it was dotcom, lol…
For drum and bass it was the artist who I'll talk about in this email.
But before I reveal who it is let's open up day 16!

And inside is...
Cobwebs?
Well yes. This is where British Creature Memtrix would go if he hadn't disappeared in 2018.
He produced my all-time favorite neurofunk, and to this day, his work stands tall in a sea of same-sounding neuroslop.
So what happened to him?
In short, he grew tired of the music industry and the trend it was taking.
Labels and streaming sites hold all the power and money while artists have to depend on music and ticket sales to support themselves.
The issue is that artists are TERRIBLE marketers. Which is okay. It’s two different games and let’s be honest, no one makes music to then learn marketing.
Of course, I've been working on a solution for this. But unless you're an artist it won’t really matter.
So let's get on to today's song:
This was my introduction to Memtrix. So I think it’s only reasonable it’s yours as well.
What makes Memtrix memorable is that most of his best songs don't sound like traditional drum and bass.
I always talk about finding artists who push boundaries and who are always looking to shake things up.
He was one of them.
From start to finish this sounds like something you find in a stereotypical revelation scene in a movie.
10 years later and it still sounds fresh.
Get past the gorgeous intro and you’re washed in by a gorgeous melody of drums, guitar strums, and the ol reliable bass.
I don’t speak highly of songs that have vocals in them but DAMN this one hits hard.
This is a type of drum and bass you haven’t heard before. It’s one one you won’t regret listening to either.
Njoy.
Genre: Unique Drum and Bass.
Always Missing Memtrix Forward
