🍱 Delicacy of the Day
Ninajirachi - All I Am
Alright, there has been a reason for all the Abnormal Australian representation.
It’s not just because they are kinda carrying a good chunk of the genre right now…
But this next part of the trip calls for it.
I had to see for myself what the hell they are feeding these creatures to make THE BEST electronic music out there.
I mean seriously! This country has less than 30 million people.
How in the world can they pump out so much talent?
I know the Ninajirachi showcase has been going crazy but its’s for good reason.
This song is special.
It's pretty much accompanied me from the start to the end of this trip.
Hell, this whole album has been playing nonstop.
It’s full of energy and passion. Something that (in my opinion) is in short supply.
This is also a fun song, the pianos at the start are euphoric and the main chorus has a way of getting stuck in your head.
At first listen it might not be much, but give it some time and you won’t be able to stop playing it.
It sounds like the freedom to live life to the fullest.
I hope this song also accompanies you in your journeys
Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel
For the next 9 days I’ll be exploring the ridiculous trip from last year (been counting these wrong the whole time, lol)
I didn’t have time to write it when it happened. So why not take advantage of Nostalgia Year to re-live some memories, eh?
If you don’t mind or care (no blame there), enjoy the hand-picked songs that made up this trip a lot more special. They’re even better than the amazing stuff we regularly send.
Ding Dong
We will be landing shortly. Please prepare for descent.
It’s 7am.
It seems that sleeping on the plane is a plot by big sleep to sell more melatonin because I don’t know how people wake up rested from this.
This airport is pretty cool. It’s my first time hearing English in 36 days and it feels very odd.
It’s starting to feel more and more like the US and I don’t know how to cope with it.
…who am I kidding! That’s what dissociation is for!
Arrival in Melbourne
“Hz, what the hell are you doing in AUSTRALIA? Isn’t that literally at the other corner of the world?” - The rich world traveler guy from the Front Desk Arc.
Well… I didn’t tell the guy but one of the reasons is to meet an internet friend.
I’ve known this person for 13 years, and it seemed like Australia was “on the way” from Thailand.
I guess internet friends ARE possible to meet!
…The other reason is to find out what they’re feeding Abnormal Australians to make such amazing electronic music.

Feels like the US again
Trip to park
The first order of business was to explore a bit of downtown…
We parked the car, got out into this river walk thing…
Walked for like 5 minutes…
This is when I learn the first thing about Melbourne.
“Yeah so that’s the Yarra river. People throw ebike and scooters in there!”
LMAO???
I thought it was a joke but then I actually looked and ho and behold!
THERE’S A LIME EBIKE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE RIVER.
To this day, hearing or reading the word “Yarra” incites a Pavlovian response of laughter.
And that’s when Clara (name changed) went
“Yeah so… that’s kinda it! Do you want to go to this cool park?”
I don’t know jack squat and she’s in charge of plans for Australia.
“Yeah! Lead the way!”
…except it seems that the “getting lost” thing rubs off as we both got lost on the way there.
The good thing is that public transportation is free in certain areas!
So after figuring all of that out we made it to Victoria Botanical Garden.

It was honestly a very nice way to start the day.
After being cooped up on planes and airports it was great to get some fresh air.
We did a “kayak tour” of the gardens and learned all sorts of cool things about the fauna there.
This place is beautiful, highly recommended.
We spent most of the day here and in the surrounding area.
Art museum
This was on the way while exploring so we stopped by.
It was pretty cool! There were all sorts of expositions on different cultures.
Also got these cool pictures!

Can’t really say much about the place, it has art.
We also got there 30 minutes before closing so it was one of those “look at everything really fast” type of things.
Very cool spot tho!
After that it was getting late so it was time to start heading to the airbnb.
Airbnb
I don’t really rememeber much about the road there.
Mostly because I passed the hell out in the car.
It was a pretty long ride though, it seems the airbnb was a sweet 40 minutes away from the downtown area we were in!
Regardless, we got to the airbnb.
"Yeah so… you're the last customer"
That’s what the host told us right after we walked in and said hello.
Mind you I booked this 6 months in advance.
This was the only Airbnb close to where my friend lived.
It was also $1,000 cheaper than a regular stay...
Of course, it was a bedroom-type stay in the main house.
Not my first option, but Australian stays are... Expensive.
But hey at least there are cats and dogs everywhere!
Soooooooo, pretty much a no-brainer
"Yeah, I took down the listing, but I felt bad about canceling on you, so you're officially the LAST person to stay here!"
Sometimes fate has a weird way of manifesting itself. This is the 5th time it’s manifested this trip, at this point I can’t even deny it.
Things just have a way to work out for the best eh?
Regardless, this is the last branch of the trip.
The land down under: Australia
What awaits in this mystical land?
You’ll have to find out tomorrow.
