WELCOME BACK, to the ANNUAL (only the second time we’re doing this) DUMPSTERDAR (and Hz said we didn’t NEED a new name despite acknowledging that we did in fact, need a better name).

Everyone is dealt a certain hand.

We don’t get to draw more cards, or change hands.

All we can do is play the hand we are dealt as best as we can.

In other words, we’ve got ONE chance at life.

We all talk about this, and everyone always says this.

And while yes it’s true, we don’t seem to talk much about how within that one life, are an infinite number of possibilities.

Take a deck of cards for instance. You get one deck sure, but you can shuffle it 52! (52 factorial, or:

80,658,175,170,943,878,571,660,636,856,403,766,975,289,505,440,883,277,824,000,000,000,000 different ways

Yeah.

So within your ONLY LIFE, lays an infinite number of possibilities to play that hand. BUT, once you play them. they’re done.

In approximately two days, I will finally be graduating with my bachelors. A feat I never thought I’d ever achieve, yet I am here to tell you that I am. Sure I may have misplayed my hand a long the way, but it has all lead me to places I never would have thought possible.

So…

Play that hand, and never look back at what could have been. You’ve got ONE life to live, so live it. Play it card by card, and see where those possibilities take you.
