How to remove fear.
And how music can help
A couple of hours ago, I came upon the idea of the “4 C’s to beat fear.”
It comes from Dan Sullivan’s “The 4C’s” book(lol)
They stand for:
Commitment
Courage
Capability
Confidence
According to Dan, it’s the journey to breaking the comfort zone. it can oddly be applied to anything.
How it works
Let’s say you’re afraid of building thermonuclear warheads. But through commitment (either from yourself or your boss), you gather courage…
Which gives you the capability to build them more effectively (without blowing up).
Which provides you with the confidence in your ability (thus removing fear)
If you want a less extreme example, this email list is the perfect example of the 4C’s.
I was DEADLY afraid of starting this project and putting ideas out there.
But through commitment with friends, I gathered the courage to start it.
Of course, these horrible emails still need improvement, but I’m more confident about writing and sending them.
Of course, while commitment can be a solid way to build courage, there’s another way not included in Dan’s book…
Today’s song.
Play this song and turn your brain off. The courage that can come from it is enough to gather that momentum.
I, of course, won’t spoil what it is or who made it. You’ll have to go through the 4C’s to find that out.
Njoy.
Genre: Courage
