Let's go over a trend you may have noticed if you use streaming platforms like Sloptify and Crapple Music.
Artists releasing the same song three times while leading up to the album.
Or in the case of Rezident…
Releasing the same mf song 5 times over the span of a year.
Yeah sure the song is good. BUT DO YOU REALLY HAVE TO MAKE IT AN OFFICIAL RELEASE 5 TIMES?
First as a single.
Then as a self titled EP.
Then grab said songs from the EP and TURN IT INTO A SECOND EP.
AND THEN ADD THOSE SAME SONGS INTO A FULL ALBUM
T W I C E.
Seriously. The DELUXE edition of the album has the mf song turned into an extended mix.
This is the Skyrim of electronic music.
But he’s not the only one guilty of that.
Far too many artists have kept re-releasing the same song over and over to keep it relevant.
Adi T has been releasing different versions of Liquor Store ever since that song blew up.
This is not to tear anyone down. You gotta do what you gotta do to stay relevant.
My only concern is that at some point people are going to notice the laziness and lose all respect.
But what do I know. I’m just a filthy consumer.
And worst of all I’m a hypocritial one because guess who got rolled for “send a song via email” today?
None other than Rezident.
No. It’s not the song I’m complaining about.
Yet, despite his lazy practices the man has a gift for songwriting and sound design.
I’ve been following his career for almost 4 years now and every release blows me away (even when it’s the 15th mf time).
Don’t worry. This one was only released once.
As for why you should listen to it?
You will feel at home if you enjoy hypnotic house
It will take you on a spin with all the tempo changes and little details
The sound is IMMACULATE.
It has two unique drops in the same song.
It’s a modern take on progressive house executed to perfection.
Njoy.
Genre: A good song only released once.
Always sending every email once Forward
