🍱 Delicacy of the Day

SAKA - beside her

This song by Heartless Hong Kong artist Saka may challenge everything you know about what electronic music can be.

To this day, the best way I can describe this song is…

The grooviest use of guitars, at an incredible tempo, with a hint of Spanish flair.

It will also give you one of those “unexplainable feelings” you get from listening to songs that sound “new”.

I genuinely cannot put into words how good this song is. It’s one of those you have to experience for yourself and get blown away.

Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel

For the next 24 days I’ll be exploring the ridiculous trip from last year

I didn’t have time to write it when it happened. So why not take advantage of Nostalgia Year to re-live some memories, eh?

If you don’t mind or care (no blame there), enjoy the hand-picked songs that made up this trip a lot more special. They’re even better than the amazing stuff we regularly send.

5am.

I can barely stay awake.

I check my phone for the address I’m supposed to go to.

…and I noticed the reservation is tomorrow.

So I quickly knocked out and revived at 11 am.

Shortly after, I confirm the plans with the friend from yesterday and make my way to the meeting point.

  1. Road to mystery location.

It’s been a while since this happened…

And to make up for it, I took 3 wrong trains!

Not only that, I got off the wrong station and had to wait 30 minutes for the next train.

This section of “Hz gets lost in foreign countries” is sponsored by T-Mobile’s AMAZING 254kbps roaming data (and my inability to read).

Regardless, after the long adventure, I arrived at last.

Is that… Korean Mickey Raccoon?

  1. Lotte World

They called it the world’s biggest indoor theme park.

And yeah, that part might be right.

The view from the top of that pokemon balloon thing.

They had this Pokemon theme going on, which meant the place was extra packed.

Still not sure who translated the Pokemon names tho…

FREAKY PHANTOM

JAMMANBO

Yadon

GORAPADUCK

Ayo… Nymphia???

My favorites!

Regardless, the indoor rides are FUN. Some parts were scary as my head got a bit too close to some of the walls.

There’s also a crazy amount of them. Not sure how the engineering worked but I’m amazed at how they fit everything inside a building.

Now here’s another thing I noticed

THEY F*CKING LOVE THE BABY SHARK SONG.

This was the fourth time in the past 3 days I heard Baby Shark blasted through speakers.

Now you might say “yeah, it’s a theme park”

But I heard this song in restaurants, train stations, and stores.

So I’m not 100% sure it’s just…

Okay, so I literally just googled this while writing this email, and it turns out the South Korean Kpop group “The Pinkfong Company” is responsible for creating the song.

So I guess it’s like playing K-pop songs everywhere.

Well… the more you know!

Regardless, we found another section of the park that went outside.

And just as we stepped outside, we saw…

Yeah… I have a sneaking suspicion about Korea, but I still have more evidence to gather.

This outdoor area has a bunch of amazing rides as well.

So far, the rides have been better than Disney’s.

The other plus is that the Lightning Pass is ten times cheaper!

So overall, the Korean Disney seems to be better!

Highly recommend you check out this place if you like theme parks.

The whole trip to Korea might be cheaper than a weekend at Orlando too!

Now, after all the fun times, it was time to take my friend on the Hz special.

Can you guess what it is?

  1. Seoul Sky

Say it with me!

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER TOWER!!!!!

This was right next to the theme park, so we walked 10 minutes to get there.

The entrance experience was also unlike any other tower.

They first get you in this INCREDIBLE elevator ride filled with some really cool visuals…

Have you walk through a hallway that explains how cool the tower is…

Sits you down in a room that hypes up the INSANE views this tower has…

Plays some epic music to get you in the mood to have your mind blown...

And then, once the expectations are set…

The walls open.

Revealing:

Yeahhhhhhh…

That sight was honestly the most anticlimactic thing ever.

One person even audibly sighed at the disappointment, lmao.

I mean there’s a whole 3 STORMS ripping in the back there.

I’m sure with an actual sunset that sight is incredible.

Speaking of sunsets, I’ve yet to see a non-cloudy one!

Oh well.

No biggie, check out these amazing sights:

Yeah the lighting in this tower was ASS

This one was a bit tamer than N Seoul Tower. Still highly recommended just uh… bring a camera that won’t get affected by the insane amount of light.

Unfortunately, the friend didn’t enjoy the tower as much as I did, which means I’ve failed this conversion attempt.

We were also getting kinda hungry so it was time to bounce.

  1. 7eleven ramen

“I gotta show you this spot. It’s this 7-Eleven in the middle of nowhere.”

“Oh yeah? And what’s so cool about it?”

“You’ll see.”

The cool thing about this place is that it sells “make your own ramen” kits.

In a nutshell, they give you a bowl, dozens of ramen flavors to choose from, and a wide selection of condiments (cheese, seafood, meats, etc).

The cool thing was that they have these machines that will “cook” the ramen for you.

And well…

As unappealing as it looks, it was really good!

One of the most unique experinces and one that

  1. Back home

The plan was to get back at a reasonable time.

After all it was confirmed that the expedition was tomorrow.

…so when I got home at 1am I knew I was in for quite the adventure the next day.

But as the saying goes…

We keep going until the wheels come off!

Catch you tomorrow.

Always Forward
