Sunday Single #10
Welcome to Sunday Singles!
Every Sunday either Hyperoxia or I will send you a micro-review of a single song.
It’s a very interesting phenomenon how a song can evoke so many emotions. Something so seeminlgly simple yet powerful enough to create memories in you.
This song is one I’ve had on repeat for the past day. Something about it is has hypnotized me into borderline addiction. I hope it does the same to you.
Song Info
Title: SkiiTour - We Belong (Badger Remix)
Release Date: 6/24/22
Genre: House
Runtime: 4:13
Artist Lore
I think this is my first time doing a remix so I’ll just focus on the remix guy.
Badger is a British creature producer from the grey lands. He specializes in UK Garage, bass house heaters and jungle (The only thing coming out of the UK these days, lol)
The Great
This song feels like an entire night out. The slow start gives you the feeling of excitement and sets a really calm tone. The ending on the other hand slows it down, the same way as when it’s time to go back home, just as fast as it started.
The drop itself has me hypnotized. The chords used are majestic and the simple melody has taken more space rent free than I’d like to admit.
I know I always bash on lyrics but this is one of the few ones where I genuinely enjoy it. It's as if the lyrics were the foundation of the song.
The Meh
I don’t really have anything negative to say about the remix. THE ORIGINAL SONG HOWEVER, is absolutely atrocious. Would NOT recommend listening AT ALL.
Conclusion
If I was social, this would be my “night out prep” song, it sets the right mood. I’m sure this song would go great at a live set but Hyperoxia will find out.
Similar to it
I don’t think there’s a song that embodies the same emotions, but here’s one that gets close..
