Today’s single is definitely, quite the single.
In terms of releases, I completely missed this one, and I don’t recall if Hz ever mentioned it during our trip, or after at all. As always, given the artist, you know its going to be a good one.
Today’s song showcases a MASTERCLASS in progressive house. One that like many other progressive house classics, will leave you replaying this song non-stop. According to Apple Music, today’s song is also an homage to the late, but great i_o.

Deadmau5 should be NO stranger to you. He’s headlined the worlds biggest festivals and concerts, celebrated 25 years of being in the music industry earlier this year, and produced (alongside Kaskade) one of the most genre defining and well known pieces of music, as well as a plethora of other accolades. He’s a hau5hold (I’m not sorry) name at this point. The moment you see that quintessential helmet of his, you know EXACTLY who it is. Even the mere outline of it is enough to let you know.
The Great
The song starts off with these fluttering picks that increase in tempo. It continues to build upon this while also introducing a melody that eventually evolves into, the quintessential deadmau5 sound, now introducing chords. It’s once they build up do they die down and give way to an incredible progression in sound. This simply put, is Deadmau5.
The Meh
You’re honestly not going to find a Meh from me. Progressive House is not for everyone, and so it’s almost 10 minute journey in sound progression may become a bit monotonous for some people. But this is something I’ve been listening to for a while, so I’ve fallen in love with it.
Conclusion
This was a shock drop to say the least, but an absolute welcome one. It’s no surprise that it is a great song given the fact that Deadmau5 just, TRULY understands what he is doing. He’s one with the music.
This FOR SURE, will see some heavy playtime.
