🍱 Delicacy of the Day
Torus - Chroniko XXX
This week seems full of “hypnotic” songs.
That wasn’t by design, it just kinda played that way.
So let’s keep it going for one more day eh?
This track by Netherland Neanderthal Torus is one of the most magical and euphoric experiences out there.
It might be a bit of a “slow start” but it sets the stage perfectly.
Like yesterday’s song, it completely changes your mood and mindset.
The difference is that the magic comes from a single drop that will blow your mind.
A lot of people i’ve shown this to have reacted in awe.
This song will leave you with a feeling of closure and knowing that everything will be okay.
Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel
For the next 3 days I’ll be exploring the ridiculous trip from last year. Can’t believe it’s almost over!
I didn’t have time to write it when it happened. So why not take advantage of Nostalgia Year to re-live some memories, eh?
If you don’t mind or care (no blame there), enjoy the hand-picked songs that made up this trip a lot more special. They’re even better than the amazing stuff we regularly send.
5am.
Hours of sleep: 3.
Safe to say, I was seeing demons.
I do have to talk about something.
It is COLD in Australia,
Normally it wouldn’t be a problem if I didn’t spend the last 37 days exploring the hottest Asian cities.
I was also pretty surprised to experience “Winter” in September.
Its one thing to know about how other countries have different season depending on their hemisphere, its another to live it.
Regardless, going from extreme heat to extreme cold made me appreciate the misery Miami can deliver in the weather department.
Now there’s a reason why I mention the weather, and that’s because the first location is:
Hot Springs Spa
It was my first time ever at a hot springs.
Olivia recommended this spot and I wasn’t sure what to expect.
They gave us a robe, a towel, and a locker key.
They had a no picture policy so there’s not much I can show you.
Instead here’s a quick rundown of some of the “pools”
A. Lookout Pool
I wish I could do the “say it with me” thing but I wasn’t able to get a picture. This was a really popular spot, so we started here.
It took a bit of time before gathering the courage to go in.
The water was 113 degrees (45 celcius), and even though the outside was Freezing at a cool 20 degrees (-6 celcius).
The biggest problem was the feeling of being cooked alive and the pain of getting into boiling temperature water.
Which of course, the mentality of it made it even more painful.
And yet, it wasn’t THAT bad when I eventually got in the water.
Once the boiling feeling subsided, It was pretty relaxing!
Too relaxing in fact as I started dozing off shortly after. (the 3 hours of sleep are starting to catch up).
Wasn’t able to get much of a rest, as I had to move to the next set of pools.
B: Cave pool
The problem about exiting these pools is the cold wave that instantly hits you.
It’s like going out of boiling oil straight into a freezer.
Another problem was that the cold meant the robes weren’t getting dry, so you’re just covering yourself with a cold magnet.
And so started the game of jumping between pools to stay warm.
This next one had a cave in it.
You could sit down and enjoy some rest from the sun.
It was also comfortably dark.
…which meant that within 5 minutes of being there I was OUT like a light.
Yeah maybe coming here with 3 hours of sleep was not the right call.
I took a nap for a good 15 minutes before the dehydration started to hit.
Unfortunately, this got me even MORE tired.
C. Saunas (and Hell)
This place had a couple of options
A traditional sauna
A cold plunge
The Hanam.
This third one is where I developed a fear of hell.
It’s a traditional turkish sauna.
The inside is BURNING HOT, HUMID, AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE GETTING BRUNED ALIVE.
Breating feels like inhaling fire. Even slow breaths were burning my lungs.
There was this “silver tray” you could fill with cold water and dump on your head to “stay cool”
But it only made things worse.
I couldn’t stay inside of that place for more than a minute.
No clue what the Turks were getting at with that sauna. Whatever they were detoxifying had to be stronger than Satan itself
In any case, Calara and Olivia LOVED the Hanam.
They stayed there for 5-10 minutes at a time while I went explore other areas.
Maybe I’m not build for this hahaha. That hanam experience did help in waking me up a bit.
D. Outside pools
By this point the sun was starting to be a problem.
The cold was still there but there is now a death heat beam hitting you directly.
This was a nightmare scenario.
Your body is getting cooked alive while STILL freezing.
Genuienly a surreal experience.
By this point, both Clara and Olivia were doing their own thing.
I grew tired of the constant cycle of heat and freezing, and the robe was simply not drying up.
So I did what every person does when they’re bored and don’t want to get their phone from the locker.
E. xploring.
This place had A LOT of areas.
A solarium…
Huts?
Premium retreat pools…
A garden?
Scented pools…
Tanning spots…
And the place where I’d meet my fate
A random sunpod.
There were bean bags on this site. Laying down sounded like a great idea after standing and sitting around for most of the day.
And it was!
The place was quiet and there wasn’t much going on.
…which meant that just like in the cave, I was OUT within 3 minutes.
Clara woke me up 2 hours later. It was time to go.
F. inal Thoughts
This place was pretty cool!
It was a great introduction to the world of relaxation.
Never really imagiend that burning pools were going to be that good.
The ONLY thing I’ll never try again is the Hanam. Just thinking about it triggers PTSD.
it’s a whole day adventure though. We spent a good 8 hours bumming out in this spot (and apparently I spent more time sleeping than actually sitting on pools).
Would recommend.
Pier
Since this place was close by we decided to swing by and check it out.
Not much to say other than the sea is beautiful and I love how clean the water looks.
Here, check it out:

Bonus stingray jumpscare!

It was 5pm by the time we were done. Most things were closing so we just went back to Olivia’s house to hang out.
House invasion part 3
Everyone was too relaxed (and tired) to really do anything.
The only thing I really remember is watching a bunch of TV and youtube videos.
We also got some shawarma!

This was one of the freshest shawarmas I’ve ever had.
After this we all decided to head home.
I fell asleep the second I touched the bed. It seems the hot springs left me a little bit TOO relaxed.
And honestly?
It really helped. For the first time in 40 days, I was forced to slow down and REALLY enjoy the present moment (even if it was while boiling my lungs and passing out at the pool).
See you tomorrow.
Always warning people about Hanams Forward
