I’m sitting at the wage cage front desk when I glance at the fan display next to me …

I look at the news and see that temperatures are, in fact, about to rise…

So to say it’s HOT in this b*tch 200x200 box is an understatement.

The reason for this heat?

AC is broken.

So the only source of “cold” in this entire room is a tall Hampton Bay fan (they bought it after I bitched and moaned for weeks)…

Which ironically displays the temperature as a constant reminder of the joyous heat.

I’ve asked Management about the AC. They say it will be fixed “when the lobby gets renovated”

Hey, nothing wrong with that. I would also be saving money if the AC replacement cost a couple of grand.

But here’s the problem…

After asking around, the staff say the problem has been going on for…

YEP. FOR 3 YEARS(!) THIS FRONT DESK HAS NO WORKING AC.

Naturally, I’m KINDA curious to know what’s going on.

Have they always said, “When the lobby gets fixed”?

So I ask the Soul Bound Maintenance Chief (he’s been here for 21 years)…

“Hey so, when does the lobby renovation start?”

“Oh… that?” He starts laughing “That’s been planned to “start” since 2021!”

I stand there absolutely FLABBERGHASTED.

HOW DID THE LAST COMPANY WORK THIS WAY? DID THEY SERIOUSLY JUST SIT IN THIS 80+ DEGREE WEATHER WITH NO AC? FOR 3+ YEARS

Now obviously, this is a losing battle. If they haven’t started this project in 3 years…

THEY PROBABLY WON’T START IT NOW.

But hey, this new job site is nice. There are few people and a LOT of downtime which is always great.

So I’ll just keep bitching and moaning until they:

A- Fix the AC

B- Fire me

Until then, here’s today’s adequately named HEATER.

It’s a phenomenal spring anthem and the song that plays in my mind whenever I set foot in this oven.
