Currently going through a detox procedure.

Nothing serious. I just can’t keep listening to the same album for an 8th day in a row.

Part of that procedure involves going through the archives to find some old treasures to send.

Except, every time I press shuffle (Yes, I keep going back to the album after 20 minutes)

SLOPTIFY GIVES ME THE SAME 20 SONGS.

It could be part of their new “Encrapped Shuffle” which according to google:

“Spotify "Enhanced Shuffle" is the new Smart Shuffle, a feature that intelligently mixes recommended songs into your playlists, based on the vibe of your existing music”

I tried it out all day and well…

I’m either extremely schizophrenic with a cursed taste or Spotify doesn’t understand what “vibes” are.

How is this bum ass feature taking me from liquid dnb to indusrial techno to piano house? Who programmed this crap?

That person and the Google Maps (long story) developer gotta get back in code camp because THE FEATURE AIN’T FEATURING.

I swear they’re considering “bpm” as the vibe identifier lmfao.

And such is the curse of electronic music. Unlike most other genres which can be instantly identified, there’s no “common unifier” for electronic music.

Your breakcore and drum & bass will sound different than your house and techno.

And frankly, having one billion subgenres for each primary genre just adds to the clustershow (can someone tell me what terrorcore is?)

Hell, the genres go though so many rebrands its a fools errand to keep up with whats what.

Regardless, I was able to fight the algorithm (press skip 50 times) and find something amazing .

This is by American’t duo Phantoms.

I don’t know what it is with duo artists and making the best music, but this one is a groovy masterpiece.

It was powerful enough to get me away from the crack album for a good 25 minutes!!! (Gonna need an intervention atp)

And unlike Sloptify’s shuffle feature, this one matches the vibe for a slow Wednesday.

I will warn you though. There’s some F- gags Fre gags, French language in the song.

So listen with caution.

And Njoy.

Genre: Hand Selected Goods (new subgenre for house)

Always Fighting Against Shuffle Forward

Hz

P.S. The repeat songs during shuffle seems to be an actual bug though. At least according to a couple of Reddit threads I found while investigating this “feature.”

Man, small tech startups and their softwares. I guess they only need one more billion dollars to have a working product.
