The one good thing that came out of the pandemic

And how it's still relevant today.

This morning, I came across an artist's post about the dreaded 2020s, which feel so close yet far away that it doesn’t feel real.

Here's what he said:

"Today’s song was written in the midst of the initial Covid lockdowns, during that two-month period of heavy writing, weed, and global paranoia—three things that inevitably fed off one another.

Admittedly, I adored those days. The world seemed to grant artists permission to do precisely what they had always done, yet without social obligations and feelings of FOMO hovering overhead. It was a time spent creating, cooking (well, eating in my case), and going for runs along an empty Champs-Élysées.

I wouldn’t wish for it to happen again, but I, like many others, have adopted some of those lessons learned into my life since."

I agree with this. Ever since 2020 happened, there's been an insane amount of good music coming out.

And that explanation makes sense.

The 2012-2014 Golden Era happened in America a bit after the 2008 Financial Crisis - very different than a worldwide pandemic but the principle is the same:

Crisis, chaos, and instability create innovation.

And after years of uncertainty and being pushed into the depths of our minds, new things are created. In any case, today’s releases keep it rolling.

I don't have an estimate of when this golden era will end. But you are currently living in one.

These past couple of years have been meet with such an insane amount of good music there’s not enough time to enjoy it.

It’s time to let go of the 2012-2016 era. There’s a new one, and it’s glorious.

So yes, this is another Fridee Showcase because COME ON THERE’S SO MUCH GOOD MUSIC OUT TODAY.

So without further ado…

Njoy.
