RIP INTERNET

1983-2024

Is the Internet dead?

Ever since AI started creating articles, images and now videos and music, the theory of 'dead internet" has never been higher.

At first I thought "that's just entropy doing it's thing."

But after doing a bit more research (scrolling through twitter and embracing the voices) I found something else.

First, question for you: what do you consider "dead"?

There's more content, movies, books and music today than ever before…

And more gets written, produced and released at beyond industrial rates.

Sure, the majority of it (being generous) is slop.

But that doesn't stop it from existing and "being created."

And how can it not be?

Give everyone access to a massive soapbox at the town square to share whatever is on their mind, and you'll find everyone getting their own.

This was power exclusive to the most powerful and influential people. Why would you not take it?

The problem is that everyone wants to contribute to the creation contest, but there isn't enough time to review the submissions.

Scores are given out from quick glances, missing the little details that bring it to life and build the connection.

So no, the Internet is not dead...

It's disconnected.

So much slop is coming out that finding and appreciating the Hidden Gold becomes challenging.

And with limited time on earth, it may not even be worth shoveling through the slop to find it…

But that gold DOES exist.

Even with AI increasing the ROS (rate of slop) coming out daily gold will still be created.

And yes, there is still too much gold out there to spend your time and attention (non renewable sources) on slop.

That is why I'm committed to finding and sending you the best music.

Music that has a story, emotions, and meaning.

That's something neither AI nor people in it for a "quick buck" and "quick fame" won't ever be able to do.

So, while the Slop Won't Stop™️, the gold won't disappear either, as long as it gets the time and attention it deserves.

Case in point: today's song.

Coming from French Freaks Whim Therapy and YMNK, they prove that the only good export from France is its music.

Energetic, melodic, euphoric, and addicting.

Combining a fantastic guitar riff with some well timed pads

The song itself sounds like what I imagine is flying through the universe at rapid speeds, taking a break to appreciate the world around you.

It’s a genuine joy to listen to it evolve as it goes. The melody combined with the pads sprinkled around it is addicting.

This is PEAK inspiration music
