This is the best song to start a Monday with.

It has the perfect energy and tempo to get inspired.

As with everything from Abnormal Australian duo X Club, this is a simple but effective track.

And of course, the best use of pianos in the game.

I don't know what they do to them. Even with such a simple loop it hits the right spot.

That second drop is killer too. It comes outta nowhere and has you looping the song to listen to it again.

If you want a beach track, don't miss out in playing this song before summer ends.

💭 Quick Drivel

4am (again)

At this point I am running on hopes and dreams with a side of chronic body pain.

Thankfully, it seems the insane amount of medicine has been successful, as I can actually breathe without sneezing and coughing up a storm.

Regardless, the trip is almost over. This is the final stretch.

I drag my way to the car and knock out the whole way there.

It was an hour ride so it helped make up for some sleep.

It’s not as “Cheap” as people say it is.

I am comparing it to Korea btw, not the US.

Non-hostel stays can definitely add up, but it's definitely worth staying at a “fancier” place.

Food can be quite pricey, so can Ubers if you don't take motorcycles.

Sure, activities can be affordable. But there aren't THAT many unless I missed something.

Now to be fair, Phuket IS a tourist area and most people report it being 20% more expensive than most of Thailand.

Could have been my own experience; it’s also not a complaint as it’s worth the visit. Just have realistic expectations that you’ll spend more than you imagine.

While waiting for boarding, I met Matt (name changed).

He was a military guard for the Sri Lanka consulate.

In that brief moment, he told me all about how he’s a traveling consulate guard, how he can’t go into the red-light districts and all the places he’s been to while in service.

Crazy how if you want to travel full time you can also become a US soldier lol.

Then he gave me an official US military badge from the Sri Lankan consulate. Apparently they trade these like Pokémon cards.

Can’t find a picture, so it will be in the post-trip haul.

Regardless, very cool!

Shortly after that, it was time to board the plane.

This wasn’t like the standard airports where you go on the gangway. Instead, they used buses to take you to the runway, then you boarded the plane via stairs.

I knocked out the second I touched the seat and fell into a short slumber.

This airport is insane from the moment you arrive.

Immigration took a whole 2 seconds and there were no lines.

Hell, there was no immigration period. The “checkpoint” looked like a subway station entrance where, instead of scanning a ticket, they scan your face and let you in.

Of course, I had to go explore the Waterfall.

I literally got a flight with a 16-hour layover just to explore this place lmao.

Now there was this game thing you could do from trip.com.

If you completed it, they gave you a free ticket to the… airport theme park???

…so of course I completed it, falling into yet another marketing scheme.

Is the airport like 80% of the place?

Well, apparently so because I spent a whole 4 hours here and felt like not much was explored.

However here are some other pictures from the “theme park” they have at the top floor.

The funniest part about this was that some acitvities required an extra charge.

And it wasn’t cheap either. If you wanted ot access the bridge next to the waterfall it was like $30 for 20 minutes.

There was also the Pokémon Center (most expensive in the world btw)

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Hz trip without falling into a tourist trap.

Which in this case was a $10 BROWNIE.

Was it good?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I can see how this is the best airport in the world. But holy crap is it expensive.

After getting a (quite expensive) taste of the airport I left to explore the rest of the city.

And in classic Hz fashion, I got lost in the train system.

Their trains are pretty cool and comfortable though.

Unfortunately I was running late to a mission so I ended up taking an Uber.

…Which was EVIL expensive at $30 for a 15-minute ride.

Now you remember the trip.com promotion at the airport?

… You'll never guess what I used to get last-minute tickets to bypass the queue.

Which was very funny because the security guard at the door was like “Sorry. No more tickets for today. Come back tomorrow”

But the moment I pulled up with a QR code (sponsored by trip.com), THE SAME SECURITY DUDE just said: “Okay, welcome in!”

Which is the right answer as the tickets were like $50 hahaha.

Regardless, it was worth it.

I mean, check this out.

This is where I met “David” an irate Irishman who was also a fellow tower enjoyer.

We bonded over towers and talked about the differences between America and Ireland.

He was baffled when I told him about life in America (and our lack of vacations).

The complaints on his side were the draconian car laws and insane amount of taxes.

He also taught me some travel strategies and ways to get into towers for cheap.

I never really imagined meeting someone who also enjoyed towers and lookouts, so this was a very welcome surprise.

Then after an hour of banter, he hits me with the

…and so I followed yet another stranger!

After walking 20 minutes to what felt like half of Singapore, we made it t o the next destination.

Say it with me one more time!

This view was much better icl.

It provided a more “intimate” view of Singapore.

I mean check this out.

We stayed here for a bit, talked a bit more and then went our separate ways.

Guess who just spent a sweet $40 ride to the airport 25 minutes away!

Holy crap this place is expensive.

I wasn’t the only one saying it, though. The Uber told me that living here is incredible but also insanely expensive.

Regardless, he's very happy living here and wouldn't have it any other way.

He wouldn't recommend staying more than a couple of days, as you can explore the whole place pretty quickly.

Yeah. I’m not sure if I’m built like that man hahaha

I've been here for 15 hours, and I spent $350 dollars on a meal, 2 Ubers, a train ticket, and 2 towers.

You already know about the toll all American’ts must pay...

Except this was expensive.

The whole meal was like $50 (which is my fault for getting this much, but I must do it for the review).

The problem was that this was the WORST McDonald’s Ive had thus far.

The big mac tastes like water…

The McCrispy had the consistency of concrete...

The fries were alright actually.

But the nuggets sucked and the creamy mushroom cheeseburger tasted like nothing.

And worst of all…

The banana McFlurry tasted like cough medicine and not the good kind.

So overall Singapore McDonalds gets a 2/10.

Holy crap this place is expensive. I was NOT expecting that at all.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s high-tech and there are a lot of cool things to see.

But again, in just 16 hours I spent more than I did 3 days in Japan.

Would I recommend it?

If you’re loaded yeah.

Otherwise? Have it as a layover to explore the airport. That by itself is a fun experience hahaha.

And also, do yourself a favor and don’t get any brownies. (Yes, this still haunts me a year later).

Thankfully, my stay here was coming to an end.

I just had to survive a 3 hour wait for the plane (which got delayed).

Survive what? The insane amount of sleep deprivation.

I almost passed out on the floor of the airport. It’s honestly a miracle I made it on the plane.

Regardless, it was time to board the semi-final plane and make my way to the final destination.

Of course, I was out like a light the moment I touched the seat.

After all, it was a long flight, and I was landing tomorrow morning.

I bet you can’t guess the final destination.

But if you do I’ll find something cool to give you.
