Look, we can’t have a “simple song” showcase without talking about this artist.

Abnormal Australian Duo X Club is no stranger to the Dumpster™️.

There are few in the game who can come up with such incredible rhythms and “repetitive assortments.”

It’s an acquired taste, but it unlocks a good amount of genres once you get it.

This song is one of those that doesn’t have much to write home about on first listen.

Then, a couple of months later, it plays in your head and won’t stop until you listen.

And when you listen to it again, you realize how GOOD a song it is.

It’s a magical experience and only X Club can pull it off. It’s incredible what they can do with less than 5 sounds hahaha.

If you need energy, excitement, or want to feel like you’re at a party, X Club WILL deliver. Their house tracks sound like nothing else out there.

💭 Quick Drivel

“Yo check this out man, this is CRAZYYYY”

A wage cage coworker (who I’ll call Mike hereonforward) discovered AI “music.”

Now the surprising part isn’t that he discovered it now since it's been a thing for 3 years…

It’s the fact that he’s been composing and releasing REAL music for almost 10 years.

And yet he spent the whole day “making” and blasting a dozen AI-generated songs, reacting as if he had found the second holy grail.

Then he started throwing HIS OWN SONGS through the AI to “make them better” “

2 minutes later, the AI turned his passionate, imperfect song into a perfect orchestra-rock-band-gospel song that overloaded the senses so you wouldn’t notice it was an AI song.

The AI was also generous enough to remove his voice and add another AI voice on top of it.

I asked him why he’d do that, and he said:

“Well, if I wanted to do something like this, I’d have to go find the guy for the violin, and the guy for the guitar, and the girl for the chorus. Then I’d have to find a producer to bring it all together. I can’t be doing all that!”

Which, okay, fair enough. It’s not easy to make music, that’s no secret.

… But is it even “your song” anymore once you had AI turn it into a completely different thing with a singer that isn’t real?

And it’s not like it does that well either.

80% of AI “songs” sound like every instrument under the sun with perfect chords slapped together. Then it adds a perfect singer to recite AI lyrics. (Which is holy cringe.)

It overloads your senses. It sounds “too busy,” which is ironic to say as an electronic music listener.

And honestly, seeing how fast the AI made the “song” makes me appreciate the effort artists put into the craft.

Even if it doesn’t come out “good,” there was blood, sweat and tears put into it.

They had to fight FL studio, painstakingly design every sound, find other artists for help, figure out the singer part.

They spent months (or years, in Joyryde’s case) turning literal head noise into reality.

THAT effort makes music memorable. And it’s something you can listen in songs.

Now look. I like AI as a helper and assistant. I use it every day for business admin tasks.

But as an “artist,” “designer,” “writer,” or “musician”?

Get that crap outta here hahaha.

The biggest danger isn’t even the slop it makes.

It’s removing “effort” from the process.

Yeah, you have a perfectly sounding song in 2 minutes. Then what?

Are you… gonna play that stuff live? With what band?

Are you… gonna make an album with it? With what consistency?

Are you… gonna build a fanbase? How are you explaining the AI use to a society that feels “cheated” and “deceived” whenever they see/listen to anything AI-made?

The fact is, everyone building careers by having AI do everything for them will have a rude awakening when the “infinite” VC money™runs out.

The $20/month unlimited-use plan won’t be around forever. Use it to help you and take advantage of these subsidy prices.

But keep working on your craft. You’ll stand tall compared to all of those who outsourced their thinking and skills to AI.

P.S. There’s a lot more to say about this whole AI thing.

Hearing AI “music” for the first time (something I’d avoided) made me realize people often misunderstand the dangers of using AI for “cognitive tasks” like music.
