🍱 Delicacy of the Day
Yuraa - Blue (Model Man Remix)
WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME TO ANOTHER REMIX SHOWCASE.
Introducing:
The original producer! Salty Spaniard duo Yuraa. They specialize in dreamy house tracks that combine great vocals with simple synths. A tale as old and reliable as time.
On the remixer side we got… (sigh) ANOTHER British Creature, Model Man.
Alright now what makes Model Man different from other british creatures is that he’s a MASTER at the piano.
Yes yes, this is ANOTHER piano house song, but this one is LEGENDARY LOOT level.
The way Model Man combines rythmn with pianos and wraps it all in a beautiful and energetic package has to be studied.
He’s one of those artists that KNOWS how to use every sound and instrument to its full potential.
It grabbed the dreaminess of the original one and for a twist added energy and a hint of crack.
The original soul (the dreamy vocals) gets turned up a notch as well.
It’s one of the best songs I’ve heard all year and it’s become a constant staple that invades my mind randomly.
This is what a phenomenal remix sounds like.
Njoy.

💭 Quick Drivel
Sloptify announced that you will soon be able to “officially” remix any song released on their platform.
Of course, this is done using AI.
I’m not sure what the plan is here.
If I was to imagine the approval meeting, it would go sometihng like this:
Overpaid and lost Guy #1: WE SEE EVERY OTHER COMPANY USING AI. WE ARE FALLING BEHIND.
Overpaid and and out of touch manager Guy #2: WE ARE LOSING SO MUCH MONEY AND USERS ARE LEAVING IN DROVES.
Main boss: Okay. So what is the solution?
Guy #1: Maybe… we stop investing in weapon companie- PEW
Employee #1 gets turned into dust.
Guy #2 (now scared for his life): I know! We give every premium user the ability to remix anyone’s song!!!!!!! Then we pretend it's good for the artist by letting them earn based on the listens to that remix! And to stay ahead, we use AI TO DO IT!!!
Main Boss: Pay the artists????? Oh… right. Well, that’s a great idea! But how can we make back the uh… “royalties”.
Guy #2: …Charge an extra $5 for access?
Main boss: PERFECT!
Like what are we doing here?
This is the equivalent of letting TV watchers take over sports coaches because “they would call better shots” or let people fly a plane because “Yeah I can land this."
Like, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for “creative output,” but this is the WORST way to do it.
Of course, artists can opt out of this. I’m sure many if not most will.
I am curious about the logistics. Is sloptify going to have random usernames in the remix names? Do you have to provide some form of ID?
Or is it legit going to be something like Alan Walker - Faded (Fartsmella Remix)?
I genuinely believe the first to take advantage will be cryptobros who will remix every song imaginable to promote their rugpull.
Like, do people WANT to remix songs that bad? I thought the whole point of music was to enjoy someone else's creation that they put passion into.
Like at this point people gotta make their own music, lol.
I KNOWWWW I KNOWWWWW. IT’S HARD AND IT NEEDS EFFORT.
But come on? Adding a “coat of paint” over a song? Making it “different”?
This is what killed Phonk. Now it’s being used on a million user scale.
What’s next? “Remixing” the Mona Lisa and then having it displayed at the Louvre? What’s the plan here?
The Corporate Mind™ is intriguing.
In any case, I dont think it’s going to affect the electronic music industry THAT much. Most if not ALL listeners UNDERSTAND and appreciate remix culture.
Hell, remixes are the way most underground people get exposure. I discovered Yuraa thanks to today’s song. They’re pretty good!
Of course, you get remix rights after PROVING that you are worth listening to, which entails TALKING TO THE MAIN ARTIST. (Or just releasing it on soundcloud as a bootleg lmao)
I unfortunately doubt that this will be used to find new talent. This is just a soulless crash grab to attract the same people who edit all their PERSONAL pictures with AI to look “perfect.”
That said, a part of me REALLY want to see what AI comes up with hahaha.
I saw an example of turning an electronic song into a… country ballad?
…I mean, sure? Have fun doing that with something like squarepusher, lol.
Thanks to coworker exposure, I know it can make some “decent” rock and pop.
But the electronic all sounds basic and soulless. Literally Alan Walker type songs repeated endlessly.
I don’t think AI can match the limitlessness of electronic music. Call it cope idc. I truly want to see an AI come up with something like today’s song.
I also can’t WAIT to see popular artists like Drake and Taylor Swift get hit with “official” gabber and Brazilian phonk remixes by “SenileSniffer” and “RyanGoslingPissCompliation” because their managers want to get their 0.1% extra revenue.
Only time will tell if this was well thought out or just another plot for a failing company to stay relevant.
It’s a crazy world, and it’s only going to get crazier.
